Lupey-itis
by Kay Draper
Lupus, lupus, what a fright is --
What a mess my vascul-it-is.
How I fear the tendon-itis.
Hurts to breathe -- what now, pleuritis?
Sore mouth corners? That’s cheilitis;
In the mouth’s more stomatitis,
dry eyes with conjunctivitis,
heart could get –carditis.
All us Lupies got arthritis;
Lucky Lupies miss nephritis.
Nerves have neuropathy or neuritis.
You and me both get sinusitis.
Though my body not quite right is,
And Lupey’s burden never light is,
Living life with all my might is --
Forging onward worth the fight is!
